Annabelle is based in Christchurch.  She has been working as an ecologist within consultancies for five years.  She has predominantly focused on freshwater ecology however has also carried out work in estuarine environments, and wetlands, and completed bat monitoring and water quality investigations. 

She has a broad range of experience across aquatic disciplines including collection and identification of macroinvertebrates, electric fishing and fish identification, estuarine monitoring and collecting water quality and sediment samples for analysis.  The majority of Annabelle’s experience has been based in and around Canterbury, and more recent experience in Auckland, Hawkes Bay, Waikato, Taranaki and the Bay of Plenty.

Annabelle gained her BSc from the University of Canterbury, and then completed her MSc in Environmental Science.  Her thesis focused on community based water quality monitoring and citizen science, something she is particularly interested in as those who take ownership in the environment are generally more open and interested in enhancing it.
